In an ideal world we at Cafe Saki would be sat in the back room of a lower east side New York boozer just after 12 in the afternoon with a dark rum and coke in one hand, a freshly rolled cigarette in the other and the whole day lay ahead of us. Ernest Hemingway and Oscar Wilde would be holding court at the bar, Peter Cook and Donald Sutherland would have just come bundling through the door with a look of bedevillment in their eyes and Leila Moss, Arthur Lee and Maureen Tucker would be going through their soundcheck for their gig later that night. Oh and Anna Karina would be sat alone, a Gauloise perched seductively between her lips, whilst furtively glancing over her book towards our general direction. You can only but dream....

..in the meantime we've gotta concetrate on getting this new cafe bar open in time for the New Yr. Somewhere around the second week of January (if we can find some more last minute antique furniture) we'll be opening day and night, providing a place where you can slump it during the day, snaffle on turkish delicacies, whilst supping our dirt cheap house doubles and then dance like idiots to the wee small hours.

You'll find us on the corner of Wilsmlow Rd/Moss East Lane in Rusholme (next to the Whitworth boozer)and we'll be open from 12-2am Sun-Thurs and 12-4am Fri & Sat, with residents DJ's, weekly club nights, cult film evenings and sweet, sweet drinks promotions. Sweet.
